Christophe Clement has been one of the leading trainers in United States for over twenty-five years. He has won more than 2,000 races, including 33 Grade 1’s, 73 Grade 2’s and 142 Grade 3’s. Cumulative purse money earned by the Clement Racing Stable now exceeds $138 million.

As a public trainer, Christophe has acquired a reputation for meticulous attention to details. He takes pride in the horses under his care and personally trains each of them. He intentionally limits the size of his stable to a number that can be kept in just two locations at any point in time.

He is also very fortunate to have a great team around him from all corners of the world, including Christophe Lorieul, his assistant since 1993.

Christophe was grateful to learn from some of the pillars of international racing, including François Boutin, Luca Cumani , Alec and Crickette Head, and Claude “Shug” McGaughey. Christophe discovered his passion for racing in Chantilly, France, where his late father, Miguel Clement, trained.

His son, also Miguel, is an assistant after graduating from Duke University, the Darley Flying Start and apprenticeships with Mike de Kock in Dubai /South Africa and Hugo Palmer in Newmarket, England. Christophe’s older brother, Nicolas Clement, is also a successful trainer in Chantilly based in their father’s stable.

Racing is definitely a family passion!
